We are pleased to present our third installment of the Thunder solo series at YES Gallery with “Weekend Prince”, a collection of paintings and drawings by Hector Serna Jr.
An amalgamation of horror, grime and humor, Hector Serna’s work touches on the chaotic nature of everyday. Borrowing from traditional sign painting, sordid subcultures, Mexican iconography, found ephemera and vernacular aesthetics, Serna’s drawings and paintings grow spontaneously, yet are delivered methodically, embracing obsessive line work to capture an intuitive train of thought that exists between the pleasurable and shocking.
